Share by DeltaBreen for Slack
Ask for files in Slack. Keep the files out of it.
Post a file request in a channel, or send it to one person by their email address, and get your account alerts where your team already talks. What people send is encrypted in their browser and goes to Share by DeltaBreen: Slack only ever carries the link.
- On Studio, Business and Enterprise
- It only posts messages, and reads no channel
- Files never pass through Slack
What the app posts
Four kinds of message, each one you or your AI assistant asked for.
A file request in a channel
Anyone in the channel can open it and send files or answer its form. A private file request gets a fresh access code beside its link, so nothing has to be passed on separately.
A file request to one person
Give an email address and the app finds that person in your Slack workspace and messages them directly: to ask a colleague for a password, say, without it ever being typed into Slack.
A file's link
Post the link to a file you sent, to a channel or a person. Unless you send the key separately, the link carries the key, as it would in an email; your Workspace rules can allow only links without it.
Account alerts
A failed payment, storage nearly full, downloads at their daily limit, or a file request that paused itself after a burst of uploads. Pick which ones, and a person or a channel to get them.
With the connector, an AI assistant such as Claude makes the file request and posts it for you: "Ask Sam in Slack for the signed lease." It sees that files arrived, never what is in them.
Add it in three steps
- Sign in to Share by DeltaBreen as your workspace's owner, on Studio or above.
- Open Settings → Channels and press Add to Slack. Slack shows what the app may do; press Allow.
- You come back to Settings, which says Slack is connected. To post in a channel, invite the app there first with
/invite @Share.
What Slack sees, and what we keep
- The app asks Slack for three permissions: to send messages as itself (chat:write), and to find a person by their email address so it can message them (users:read and users:read.email).
- From Slack we keep the app's token, encrypted with a key only our server holds, and your Slack workspace's name, to show in Settings.
- The app never reads your channels or messages, and never fetches your list of members.
- Files, file names and form answers never go to Slack: they are encrypted in the sender's browser and sent to Share by DeltaBreen. A file request's link is safe to post: it opens the request and never carries the key to a file.
- Disconnect in Settings → Channels whenever you like, and the token is deleted. Removing the app in Slack stops it too.
