Identity verification

Know who your client is before you act for them.

Send a link. Your client photographs their passport or ID card and takes a selfie there and then; Didit checks the document and that the face matches. Add a check against sanctions and politically exposed people lists, and a proof of address, when you need them.

  • No account or app for your client
  • Results locked to your workspace's key
  • An identity provider in the EU

What you do

From the app, the API or your AI assistant, in under a minute.

  1. Type your client's email address and pick the checks: the ID and selfie always, sanctions and proof of address if you want them.
  2. They get a link from your own address, or you send it yourself.
  3. We email you when it is done. Open the result and keep the PDF record for your files.

The page a client opens on their phone: who is asking, what they need and the consent before the check.

What your client sees

A page that says who is asking, what they will need and who gets what, then Didit's guided check on their phone.

  • Your name and verified address at the top, so they know it is really you.
  • Plain consent before anything starts, including for their face as biometric data.
  • Didit guides the photos and the selfie in dozens of languages, and spots a photo of a photo.
  • About five minutes, with no account and nothing to install.

What you get

The result opens in your browser with your workspace's key, and nowhere else.

  • Their name, date of birth, nationality and document details, and whether their face matched a real person there and then.
  • Possible matches on sanctions and politically exposed people lists for you to review, and their address read from the document they sent.
  • A PDF record of each check that anyone can check is genuine on our verify page, and a copy of the ID and selfie if you chose to keep one.

The checks

Each ID check is one person. Pick what goes in it; it counts once either way.

ID document and selfie

A photo of a passport, ID card, driving licence or residence permit from about 220 countries, checked for tampering, and a selfie that must show a real person whose face matches it.

Sanctions and politically exposed people

Their name and date of birth checked against sanctions lists and lists of politically exposed people. Possible matches come to you to decide.

Proof of address

A recent utility bill or bank statement, read and matched to the name on their ID.

From your code and your AI assistant

Ask for a check from the API, the command line or an assistant, and ask later where it stands.

  • Assistants and the API see a check's status and the page that shows it, never who the person is or what Didit found.
  • The same allowance and the same result page as checks made in the app.

How your client's details are kept

  • Didit, in Spain, runs the check on its own page. Your client's camera never talks to us.
  • The result reaches our server once, readable: it cannot be end-to-end encrypted, because no browser of yours is there when it arrives. We lock it to your workspace's key at once and keep no readable copy.
  • Didit then deletes the session, face data included.
  • A copy of the ID is kept only if you ask, locked the same way. You delete a check when you no longer need it.
  • Your client agrees before anything starts. You stay responsible for why you check them and how long you keep it.

What the privacy policy says about ID checks

The plan that fits

Pro includes 2 ID checks a month, Studio 10 and Business 25. Each can include the sanctions check and the proof of address.

Checking more people than that? Extra checks are €3 each, in packs of 10, whenever you need them. They are used once the month's own are, and never expire.

Common questions

Is this enough for anti-money-laundering checks?
It gives you the evidence most firms collect: a checked document, a selfie matched to it, a screen against sanctions and politically exposed people lists and a proof of address if you ask, and a record to keep. Whether that is enough for a client depends on your rules and the risk, and the decision stays yours, as it would with any provider.
What does my client need?
A phone with a camera, or a computer with one, and their ID document. For the address check, a recent bill or bank statement. No account and no app.
Who sees my client's ID?
Didit, which runs the check, and you. Our server reads the result once, to lock it to your workspace's key, and cannot read it after that. Assistants and the API never see it.
How long is it kept?
Didit deletes its copy as soon as you have the result. You keep the result until you delete it, so you can hold it as long as your rules say, often five years after the relationship ends.
Which documents and countries?
Passports, national ID cards, driving licences and residence permits from about 220 countries and territories, with Didit's screens in dozens of languages.
Can my AI assistant run ID checks?
Yes. It can ask for a check and tell you where it stands. It never sees the person's details: it gives you the check's page, where they open with your workspace's key.
